Design Dazzle!

My sister entered my daughter's nursery on Design Dazzle. I did the nursery with the help of my sister and one of my best friends, Meg. I was just browsing some of my favorite blogs tonight & was very surprised to see Ava's nursery featured on Design Dazzle blog! :)

After Christmas Shopping at Target

Ava & I slept late this morning; Ron had to work:( today. My mother-in-law, Ava, & I went to Target. I wanted to get 50% off wrapping paper, ect. I had good luck. Here's Ava with all of our Target goodies:

I love the sheer fabric ribbon for gifts- it makes bows easy. Target's premium wrapping paper is great, thick paper that makes wrapping more simple, I think (so I bought about 10 rolls of it). I love this new snowman...looks like it is made from different scrapbook paper.

I thought these "Ho Ho Ho" things were cute- also look to be made of scrapbook paper.
And I bought these snowflake nametags that can be tied onto the bow.

The pink snowflakes, stocking, & snowman ornaments are for Ava's pink Christmas tree.

Merry Christmas!

We had a Merry Christmas! I hope you did too. This post contains random pictures of our several Christmas celebrations. Happy New Year, too!

My grandmothers were missed very much this Christmas. It was strange to have our annual Christmas party at my grandmother's home without her there. I am so thankful that I was blessed with not only one, but two of the MOST precious ladies as my grandmothers; it brings tears to my eyes to think that God blessed me that much. Here is one of my grandmother's trees that she made a very long time ago. It's a good feeling to have some of their possessions as reminders, especially during the holidays.

This is my mom & dad's Christmas tree. I've always thought it is such a beautiful tree, & it looks 'real' to me...

At my parents' house, we do Christmas Day brunch because my sister & I along with our spouses and Ava spend the night on Christmas Eve. I made fruit dip- yummy!

One of the traditions that my husband started after we married was that he, my mom, & I eat a midnight (or later) snack at Waffle House on Christmas Day. We're always so tired, but he won't let that tradition go..I have to say it's fun!

The next two pictures are also at Waffle House- Ron & I look exhausted, but my mom looks pretty chipper for 2 a.m.! Ha.

Here's Brittany's new bling:)

My parents bought Ava this Dora bike. She LOVES it!

Wonderful Weekend

This has been a great weekend. It all started Friday at 12:45 p.m. when my boss/principal dismissed the teachers early (plus Ava went to work with me:)! That night I went to the annual Christmas party with my high school friends...we've been getting together for Christmas parties since 6th or 7th grade. We always have a BLAST- great food & Dirty Santa! :) Saturday was wonderful because Ava & I stayed in our pajamas all day. We visited my friend Anna and then hung out at home. Ron rented Ice Age & picked up pizza on his way home. Sunday we went to church before Ron & I went to see The Wizard of Oz at The Orpheum Theater (he got me tickets for our anniversary). We tried out a restuarant that we've never been to called Majestic Grille. We ended our evening with family communion at our church and relaxing at home while Ava spent the day with Mimi, Papa, & Aunt Bobbie.
